CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Esports teams entered their first multi-competition Saturday in the Collegiate Starleague competing in Rocket League and League of Legends as well as Super Smash Bros. players traveling to Louisville, Ky. for the Double Barreled IV tournament.
The League of Legends team earned their first victory in the history of the program with a 2-1 win over Northern Kentucky University. The Tigers earned a win in the first of the best-of-three match before losing game two then earning another victory in the winner-take-all final game.
Rocket League suffered a loss to the University of South Carolina in a 3-0 sweep win for the Gamecocks. CU was only able to score a single goal in the three-game match with
Nate Sampson scoring in game one on an assist by
Charlie Winnett. Winnett was the team's MVP in each game and the MVP for the match with 13 saves in total with USC putting plenty of offensive pressure on Campbellsville throughout the match.
Finally, in Louisville, the Tiger competitors at the Double Barreled IV Super Smash Bros. tournament were unable to earn a victory, with the highest individual finish coming in a tie for 97
th for CU's six competitors.

th.
Campbellsville's Esports team will continue their inaugural season of competition this week with a pair of NACE Rocket League matches this Monday and Thursday then another CSL Saturday on Oct. 26.
