Lady Tigers drop 30 seconds from relay to reach national cut

MARIETTA, Ga. – This past weekend the Lady Tiger swim team travelled to Life University for a dual meet with the Running Eagles.

The Lady Tiger performances were highlighted by the 400-freestyle relay team as Hannah Rhodenbaugh, Sara Beth Howard, Faith Hyde, and Hannah Hager helped the relay team to a 30 second season improvement, which was enough for an NAIA qualifying mark.

Rhodenbaugh was also able to help the Lady Tigers as she recorded a win in the 1000-yard freestyle in her first performance in the event of the season. She was able to put together a record an 11:50.63 to win the event. Rhodenbaugh also recorded a runner up finish in the 500-yard freestyle event with a 5:45.18.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Rhodenbaugh was joined by Hager and Mikayla Runner in the scoring column.

In the 100-yard backstroke, the Lady Tigers had quite the battle amongst themselves as Howard was able to record an event win after narrowly edging Faith Hyde as the two took first and second in the event.

Overall, Life was able to defeat the Lady Tigers 137-76.

However, Coach Casey was extremely proud of the squads as both the men's and women's team continually show improvements as they tallied 23 season bests between the two teams.

The Lady Tigers will return home on Friday, October 25thas they play host to Asbury and Life.
