GREENVILLE, S.C. – After earning a shutout win in double-overtime last Saturday, Campbellsville University's
Katelyn Young earned her second NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honor for women's soccer this season.
The junior goalkeeper made a total of 11 saves in a pair of double-overtime games last week with seven in CU's 2-1 loss to Thomas More University and four in the 1-0 win on the road at Georgetown College. The only regulation goal that Young allowed last week came on a penalty kick in the first half of the game against TMU as she was beaten to the left post with the PK.
On the season, Young has been the goalie of record in every game for the Lady Tigers this year with the same 11-3 record as the team with 37 saves made on the season, a 0.76 goals per game average and a .787 save percentage.
Young and the Lady Tigers will head into their final two regular season competitions this week as they host a pair of tough opponents in Lindsey Wilson College this Wednesday followed by Cumberland University on Saturday at Finley Stadium.
