LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the weekend, the Tiger bowling team participated in a pair of tournaments, finishing 11
th and 9
th.
Day 1- Louisville Collegiate Classic
In the first tournament of the weekend Campbellsville was able to come away with a finish of 11
th out 26 participating teams.
Jacob Williams was able to lead the Tigers in the individual standings, using game highs of 225, 213, and 205 to total a final score of 991, enough for 38
th place.
Closely following Williams for Campbellsville was
Austin Montgomery, finishing 43
rd. Montgomery followed Williams by only ten pins, with a final score of 981, averaging 196.2 points over five games.
These individuals led the Tigers to their 4566 team score entering baker play.
In the baker games, Campbellsville started out hot, shooting 234, 279, and 212 in their first three games. As play cooled off through the middle rounds, CU was able to bounce back with a 212 in baker 12.
Campbellsville finished the baker games with 2403 points, bringing their total to 6969 for the tournament.
Day 2- Thomas N. Burris Memorial
In their second tournament of the weekend Campbellsville was able to improve upon day one's finish with a ninth place finish, in a field that consisted of many of the same teams.
Andrew McWhorter put together a stellar performance, finishing seventh out of 259 total bowlers. McWhorter was able to break the 200-point mark four times, scoring 233, 256, 203, and 232, for a total score of 1104.
McWhorter was followed by another solid mark from Montgomery. Montgomery improved on his impressive first day, finishing 15
th overall. For this tournament Montgomery used high scores of 227 and 221 for a total of 1050.
Drew Ramey was also able to capitalize on top 50 finish, shooting a 983 for 35
th place.
The Tigers entered baker play for on day two, improving their score by 20 points for 4586 total points.
In the baker games, Campbellsville was able to score 2227 total points, for a final score of 6813, enough for 9
th place.
The Tigers will have a short break from competing before they head to Smryna, Tenn. Tenn for the Brandon Burns Memorial on October 26
th.
