SEWANEE, Tn. – After solid relay performances during Friday's swim session, the Lady Tigers were back in the pool on Saturday for more Igloo Invite action.
Lexie Upton and
Anna Lewis started the day for CU with top ten performances in the 400-yard IM. Upton, entering the event with no time, was able to mark a 5:59.89 for ninth place, while Lewis following, bettering her seed to by 14 seconds. Upton came back in the 200-yard backstroke to finish 13
thwith a 3:05.35.
In the following event, Sara Beth Howard and
Olivia Schneider were able to make the finals of the 50-yard freestyle after a prelim on Friday. Howard missed bettering her seed time but was able to mark a 26.46 for 11
thplace. Schneider on the other hand was able improve upon Friday's time, finishing in 20
thwith a 29.80.
Howard followed this event with
Faith Hyde after the couple qualified for the finals in the 100-yard backstroke. Hyde swam a 1:06.78 for 11
thplace and Howard followed in 13
thwith 1:07.28.
Hannah Hager,
Mikayla Runner, and
Kate Bouldin began their days in the finals of the 200-yard freestyle. Marking a 2:07.15 in the prelims, Hager barely missed matching it in the finals, but she was able to finish seventh with a 2:07.86. Runner was able to place 12
thwith a 2:15.99, which bettered her prelim time. Bouldin followed to score three points in 14
thwith 2:20.75.
Lady Tigers closed their meet with a 13
thplace finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Runner, Lewis, Upton, and Bouldin marked a 4:22.69.
Rhode College won the meet, scoring 1,054 points. The Lady Tigers notched 250 for sixth place.
Campbellsville will host a dual on Jan. 11
thagainst Bethel University at 11 a.m. ET.
