COLUMBIA, Ky. – Coming off of their first dual matches of the season, the Campbellsville women's wrestling team's Abby Nette earned herself an individual honor as the Mid-South Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon.
 
Nette (130 lbs.) went 4-0 at the University of the Cumberlands Duals this last Friday, helping the Lady Tigers go undefeated in all four of the duals as well. She earned three 10-0 tech fall victories and a 1:22 pin in her fourth match to finish off her dominant Friday.
 
Three of her wins were against ranked opponents within her weight class, earing two tech falls over No. 7 Rebekah Garcia of Lyon College and No. 8 Ashley Ikner of Cumberlands as well as her third tech fall over Alex Enriquez of Life. Her pin fall victory came against the No. 6 ranked wrestler in the 130 lbs. weight class in Jocelyn Murphy of Missouri Valley College.
 
CU's 4-0 Friday came against four ranked teams within the NAIA Coaches' Poll in No. 1 Life (29-16), No. 3 Cumberlands (32-14), No. 8 Lyons (36-10), and No. 11 Missouri Valley (45-3).
 
Nette is a senior transfer from Emmanuel College, originally from St. Rose, La. And has had many successes prior to arriving at Campbellsville. Last season alone she was the U23 World Team Trials Champion and WCWA National Champion as she is looking to continue on that path for the 2019-20 season.
 
The Lady Tigers will get back on the mat on Dec. 6 when they host University of the Cumberlands at home for a dual at the Wrestling Facility at 7 p.m. ET.
