Bass Fishing wins 2019 Battle of the Bluegrass on Green River Lake

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The Battle of the Bluegrass traveling trophy is staying in Campbellsville for another year, as the Tigers ran away with the title on Green River Lake.

The Battle of the Bluegrass is scored differently than any other tournament. The winners are based off the top two teams from each university and the winning school is granted hosting rights for the following season.

Dalton Smith and Will Rigdon helped bring home the $1,000 check after reeling in a five-fish limit for 12.96 pounds. Morgan Miracle and Dustin Bauer had a nice five-fish bag as well with 8.26 pounds.

The total weight for Campbellsville eclipsed 20 pounds at 21.22.

In second place, Kentucky Christian finished a little under four pounds behind the Tigers with 16.62 pounds. In third was Morehead State University totaling 14.36 pounds.

Campbellsville earned hosting rights for the 2020 championship on Green River Lake for the third time in the Battle of the Bluegrass History.
