Lady Tigers drop senior night match 3-0 to Thomas More Wednesday night

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University women's volleyball team honored their seniors prior to first serve of their regular season home finale but unfortunately, they were not able to pull off a senior night win as Thomas More University earned a sweep win.

The Saints took the sets by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-22 as they hit for a .245 hitting percentage as a team compared to .136 for CU on to earn the sweep. Campbellsville did have more kills in the second set than Thomas More at 10-7 but the Lady Tigers' 10 attack errors in the set allowed TMU to keep a advantage in attack percentage.

Seniors Savannah Moss, Jaimie Thompson, and Yelyzaveta Sharkova had solid nights for the Lady Tigers as Moss and Thompson combined for 28 digs behind Thompson's match-high 21 and Sharkova was second on the CU squad with seven kills and a .136 hitting percentage in the match.

TMU was led by middle blocker Jenna Mummert who led all attackers with 14 kills and hit for an outstanding .522 hitting percentage with only two errors while adding two aces, two solo blocks, and two block assists to be credited for 19 points scored for the Saints.

Aces and blocks were key for Thomas More in the match as they had six more aces than the Lady Tigers (8-2) and three more blocks (5-2) as that combine with their 39-35 advantage in kills helped pushed the Saints over the top.

Campbellsville has one regular season match remaining in the 2019 season as they will travel to Georgetown College for a 7 p.m. ET first serve on Friday night before preparing for the start of the Mid-South Conference tournament next week.
