Tiger cheerleading finishes in fourth place at Mid-South Conference Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Mid-South Conference hosted the cheerleading championships at Bowling Green High School and Campbellsville University finished in fourth place.

The Tigers totaled 68.7 points in the team competition to sit ahead of Lindsey Wilson College (66.9) for fourth place by 1.8 points.

University of the Cumberlands captured the 2019 title to win back-to-back trophies and the third in program history. Cumberlands earned another win in the coed stunt group competition. The duo of Carter Nelson and Mishaela Feltner won with a score of 47.3.

Pikeville finished second in the team competition with 73.8 points. Georgetown ended in third with 71.65 points.

Following the event, Breanna Smith of Cumberlands won her second-consecutive MSC Cheerleader of the Year, while Georgetown's Harper Williams earned MSC Freshman of the Year honors. Cumberlands' coach Corissa Dyer was named the MSC Coach of the Year for the second-straight year.

Pikeville's Kynsi Pray was selected as the MSC cheerleading champion of character recipient on Saturday night. She earned the award based on her academic and athletic achievement, campus and community leadership, future ambition and demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA.

Two cheerleaders from each school earned All Mid-South Conference First Team honors, while another two earned second team all-conference honors.

Campbellsville had a pair of Lady Tigers named to the First-Team as Grace Jaco and Abby Prow picked up the honor. Taylor Blevins and Michaela Jarman were named to the Second-Team.
