Gunderson earns CU's first Mid-South Conference Men's Bowler of the Year award

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — For the first time in program history, Campbellsville University has a Mid-South Conference Men's Bowler of the Year, officials announced at the awards banquet on Friday night. 
 
Devon Gunderson, a senior from Elmira, NY, picked up the award after leading the way individually through the Mid-South Conference events this season. 
 
Gunderson, who also earned First Team All-MSC honors, knocked down the most pins and maintained the highest average during MSC tournaments. He tallied 4,105 pins in 19 games for an average of 216.05. He won the MSC Thomas Burris Memorial and rolled over a 200 in 13 of the 19 games.

25965At the MSC singles competition yesterday, Gunderson finished in ninth place with a five-game total of 965 – 35 pins behind the leader Andy Campbell from University of the Cumberlands. Gunderson finished in ninth place.
 
In addition to Gunderson, Austin Montgomery was named to the Second Team All-Conference. 
 
The Tigers get back in action this morning at Southern Lanes in Bowling Green for the team competition.
