MARIETTA, Ga. – A week after the Campbellsville men's volleyball team defeated St. Andrews 3-1 at home, the Knights returned the favor, beating the Tigers Saturday morning 3-1 at Life University.
SAU won the first, third and fourth sets by scores of 25-22, 25-19, and 25-23. CU won the second set 25-22 as it looked like they might try a repeat of last Saturday when the won the second, third, and fourth sets after the Knights won the opening set last week.
Head coach
Eric Snyder shuffled his lineup around a little bit in the match as
Jason Camacho moved to setter as regular starting setter,
Jeremy Hernandez, rotated in. Camacho answered the switch with a double-double at 35 assists and 11 digs.
On the attack,
Rafael Cruz and
Jose Viera Cerame each recorded 15 kills in the loss. Cruz hit for just a .175 percentage in the match as Viera Cerame hit for a .242 percentage.
As a team, the Tigers hit for the lower percentage than St. Andrews in every set except the second, which the Tigers won. Both teams were just a kill apart in the total stats but the Knights rejected 13.5 attacks compared to just three blocks from CU.
Campbellsville's next match will be next Tuesday when they host Midway University at the Gosser Gymnasium at 7 p.m. ET.
