Déjà vu all over again for the Tigers in 11-5 win over Fisher College

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – For the second-straight game, Campbellsville baseball defeated Fisher College by a final score of 11-5 Sunday evening at HIG Field.

Other similarities between Sunday and Thursday's game included a top of the first inning lead taken by the Falcons that was short lived and a home run from CU catcher Austin Peterson.

Peterson's home run came in the eighth inning to pull the Tiger lead to its final of 11-5 as the senior took a 1-0 pitch and sent it over the left field wall for his team leading fourth home run. It was the second home run of the game for CU as Donnel Bailey cranked his first of the season to left in the third inning to give Campbellsville a 6-3 lead.

Bailey finished the game 2-for-2 with the home run and a single with three RBIs and two runs scored. The 4-7 hitters of Tyler Deason, Bryson Wallet, Bailey and Tommy Sepulveda all had two hits apiece and combined for seven runs score along with six RBIs.

FC did jump ahead 2-0 after the top of the first after three-straight singles off of Deason to start the game. That followed with a sacrifice fly and an unearned run after a throw from second to first on an attempted double play got away from Ian Nowak allowing a runner to score from second base on the play.

Deason had a solid game overall on the mound and at the plate as he went four innings on the mound allowing three runs, two earned on four hits while striking out six. At the plate, Deason went 2-for-5 with two doubles as he moved to the designated hitter position once his day on the mound was done.

It was a strong outing for the Campbellsville bullpen between Jesse Davis, Aaron Hutchinson, Brenden Nipp, and Gage O'Brien who combined for five innings allowing two earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts. Davis picked up the win with two relief innings behind Deason allowing only one hit in those two innings with two strikeouts.

The Tigers are looking to get a break from the weather this week with five games scheduled for the week ahead starting with another home contest against Indiana University Southeast on Tuesday.
