MIDWAY, Ky. – The Campbellsville men's volleyball team picked up their ninth consecutive victory over the Eagles of Midway University Tuesday night 3-1 in four sets. The Tigers took the first, third and fourth sets in the match 25-21, 25-18, and 25-22 with the second set going to the Eagles 25-18.

Overall, Midway hit for a betting hitting percentage in the match with a .222 percentage compared to Campbellsville's .181 but aces and blocks helped CU overcome that discrepancy.

The Tigers recorded nine blocks, led by Jeremy Hernandez and Nils Kleinschmidt who each contributed on four rejections with Hernandez getting the only solo block for the Tigers.

On the serve, Campbellsville had eight aces on the night, three coming from Rafael Cruz and five other Tigers recording a single ace. Cruz also finished with the team-high in kills for the match with 16 kills on 42 attacks for a .190 hitting percentage.

For the Eagles, Victor Pietro was the leading attacker for the match with 28 kills on 58 attacks for a .259 hitting percentage. He also recorded 14 digs for a double-double as he was the only MU playing with double-digit kills and the only player with double digit digs.

CU will have a bit of a break in their schedule coming up now as they won't play again until next Monday when they travel to Cincinnati Christian. After that match, the Tigers will return home to face Bluefield at the Gosser Gymnasium on Wednesday, March 20.
