CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Campbellsville University men's volleyball team won their 10
th-straight match with their third 3-0 sweep of Cincinnati Christian University on Tuesday night in Cincinnati.
CU took the first two sets handily by scores of 25-15 and 25-13 as the third and final set was a tight 25-23 win for Campbellsville as the Tigers were able to finish the sweep by the minimum margin.
The Tigers shifted their lineup a bit, which they've been known to do this season, as
Jason Camacho played the role of setter and
Joudiel Poveymirow moved from libero to attacker. Camacho led the match with 22 assists and Poveymirow led the match with 10 kills, the only player with double digit kills.
Max Stotridge and
Derek Roby had the next highest kills numbers in the match for CU as Stotridge had eight and Roby had seven. Roby added a team-leading three service aces as the Tigers scored six points on aces compared with none coming from the Eagles.
For CCU, Braden Shelley was their leading in kills with seven and he also had a match-high five blocks, all solo, as the block stat was the one area where the Eagles held the advantage as they had 10 blocks to just four for Campbellsville.
Up next for the Tigers will be a return home to the Gosser Gymnasium to face Bluefield College on Wednesday night. The Rams and Tigers will also meet for the third time this season after CU won both previous matches, one via sweep and one in five sets.
