Lady Tiger basketball faces four-seeded Talladega on Friday night at 8:15 p.m. ET

BILLINGS, Mont. — No. 1-seeded Campbellsville University women's basketball has to flip the switch after pulling out an 89-84 overtime win over the University of Providence Thursday night because the Lady Tigers play again on Friday. 
 
Most commonly known as the toughest tournament in all of college basketball, the NAIA Champion will have to win five games in seven days. For Campbellsville, it'll be five games in six days. 
 
The Lady Tigers (32-2) now play four-seeded Talladega College. The Tornados (28-5) defeated No. 5-seed Menlo College on Thursday, 65-49.

Series Facts:
  • The Lady Tigers and Tornados are meeting for the seventh time in history as CU owns a 5-1 record in the series. 
  • In the three games that have been played in Talladega, Ala., the Tornadoes have snuck out an 83-79 win in 2016-17. CU rallied late to earn a one-point victory, 73-72 in 2015-16. Last season, CU pulled out an 80-62 win.
  • When playing in neutral sites or in Campbellsville, CU has dominated with an average margin of victory of 24 points and has a 4-0 record.
  • In the last matchup on December 5, 2017, Campbellsville won 80-62 behind Madison Faulkner sparking CU to scored nine of the final 15 points to ice the game. 
  • CU and Talladega have met once in the national tournament – a first-round game in 2017. The Lady Tigers pulled out an 84-75 win. 
Talladega defeats Menlo via TalladegaTornadoes.com:
  • Talladega earned its first-ever national tournament win defeating No. 19 Menlo College 65-49.
  • Brijannee Moore Moore led all scorers on the evening with 13. Moore also had 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals, 
  • Freshman Kirstin Crook was second in points on the team as she posted 11 points for the Lady Tornadoes.
  • One of the biggest stats of the evening was turnovers Menlo committed 32 compared to 14 for Talladega. Also, Talladega out-rebounded Menlo on the offensive glass, 21-10.
  • To end the second quarter half, Talladega went on a 13-8 run to take 33-32 halftime led.
Lady Tigers advance in OT behind Doram's career night:
  • senior forward Jordan Doram was a dominant force in the post only missing four shots going 14-for-18 from the field and when she was fouled, she only missed one of her 13 free throws. 
  • Doram was basically all of the bench and paint scoring for the Lady Tigers as they scored 43 bench points as a team and 46 points in the paint for the game with 28 coming from Doram. Doram also spread out her scoring throughout the game with seven in the first quarter, 12 in the second, 10 in the third, four in the fourth and seven in the five-minute extra period.
  • Madison Kaiser came up clutch on multiple occasions as the senior finished with 16 points on 4-of-13 shooting. Three of those four made baskets were three pointers that all broke ties including the first shot of the game to give CU a 3-0 lead. She also went 5-for-6 from the free throw line, the biggest two coming with 27 seconds left in overtime to give CU a 4-point lead.
  • Sophomore guard Shyla Calbert was thrust into a pressure filled role as starting point guard Caitlin Hall fouled out late in regulation, forcing Calbert to be the primary ball handler for overtime. Calbert played the entire extra period with no turnovers an assist – which was an and-one for Doram - and hit one free throw to help stabilize the Lady Tigers final push.
Last time CU had a 40-point scorer in The Tournament:
  • Whitney Ballinger, a sophomore in 2009-10, scored 48 of the 77 points for Campbellsville on March 20, 2010 vs. Oklahoma City. 
  • The Lady Tigers lost, 86-77, but Ballinger was close to a triple double. She finished 18-of-29 from the floor and 12-of-19 from the free throw line for 48 points, had 18 rebounds and seven blocks.
