Madison Faulkner named 2018-19 NCCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Year

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The National Christian College Athletic Association announced Campbellsville University's Madison Faulkner was named the 2019 Women's Basketball National Player of the Year. 
 
Faulkner, a junior from Horse Cave, Ky., led Campbellsville to a Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament championship this season. 
 
She averaged 13 points and 6.1 rebounds per game to lead the Lady Tigers. In addition, she hit almost 43 percent from the field in just 21.6 minutes per game.
 
Overall, Faulkner finished the year with 25 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 29 vs. Loyola University in the third game of the season. Her three doubles-doubles also ranked seventh in the Mid-South Conference and were second on the team. 
 
Faulkner is well on her way to scoring 1,000 points in her career after having a breakout junior campaign. She finished with 469 points and now has 934 points. 
 
The Lady Tigers finished the season with a 33-3 record and reached the NAIA Quarterfinal for the fifth time in six years. CU also matched the most wins in single-season in program history with 33.
