Tigers win fifth-straight in quick sweep of Thomas More University

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville men's volleyball's fourth sweep in their last five matches resulted in their fifth-straight win as the Tigers defeated Thomas More University.

CU won the sets all by double digits at 25-13, 25-12 and 25-14 to earn the three-set victory at the Gosser Gymnasium Tuesday night. The Tigers were money on the attack, hitting for a season-high .413 hitting percentage compared to a -.145 from the Saints.

Individually, Jose Viera Cerame led the Tigers with 10 kills on 19 attempts for a .421 hitting percentage. Rafael Cruz didn't play the whole match but was dominant on the attack in the two sets he did play in going 8-for-9 on the attack with just a single error.

In the middle, freshman Noah Henkel was a steady force offensively and defensively with four kills and assisting on three of the four CU blocks. Campbellsville played an extremely solid defensive match on Tuesday as well with 25 digs on the 36 TMU attacks that didn't result in errors.

Thomas More only scored 17 points as a team and their leader in kills, Brock Cassin, had five kills and an assist on a block to score 5.5 points for the Saints in the match. Cassin was also their only attacker to hit for a percentage above zero at .143.

To finish off spring break, the Tigers will venture back to Lebanon, Tenn. to compete in three matches hosted by Cumberland University. All three opponents will be Mid-South foes in Brewton-Parker College and Webber International University on Friday before finishing the weekend on Saturday against Warner University.
