Two ounces away, Ratliff and Dunagan finish runner-up at FLW Central Region Championship

LAKE CUMBERLAND — Two ounces…. That's all the stood between Nick Ratliff and Bradley Dunagan from capturing the FLW Yeti College Fishing Central Region Championship on Friday.

Ratliff and Dunagan reeled in a limit of five fish for 19 pounds 7 ounces – but lost to Murray State University's Hunter McKinley and Brendan Bingham (19-8).

With the runner-up finish, Ratliff and Dunagan qualify for the FLW National Championship for next June. Adam Carman and Grant Adams also qualified for the national championship with an eighth-place finish after tallying 14 pounds 13 ounces.

Ratliff and Dunagan brought home a $1,250 check with their runner-up finish.

In addition to the top two CU boats, the Tigers had eight other boats in the field. Jordan Smallwood and Colby Hayes placed 14^thwith five fish weighing in at 13 pounds three ounces. CU also had the 19^th, 23^rdand 24^thplace boats in the field. Caleb Stephenson and Justin Mayfield were 19^thwith 12 pounds 13 ounces, while Abbie Greynolds and Trevor Sagrecy was 23^rdwith 12-6 and Will Rigdon and Dalton Smith were right behind with 11-12.

Campbellsville's next tournament will be at Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas for the Bassmaster College Series. Ratliff will continue his fishing in the Bassmaster Opens Division and will compete at Smith Lake in Alabama for the Bass Pro Shops Central Open. Both tournaments will start on Thursday, April 25.
