Smith and Rigdom finish third at Bassmaster College Series Regional Championship on Bull Shoals

BULL SHOALS, Ark. — Dalton Smith and Wil Rigdon finished in third place of the Bassmaster College Series at Bull Shoals Lake to lead Campbellsville University Bass Fishing.

The top Tiger duo reeled in an impressive 44 pounds and 10 ounces through the three days, including a bag of 16-8 during the first round. With the third-place finish, Smith and Rigdon qualified for the Bassmaster College Series National Championship, while Grant Adams and Adam Carman also punched their ticket to the big dance in July.

After a 16-8 bag on Day 1, Smith and Rigdon reeled in 14-3 on Day 2 and 13-15 in Saturday's final round.

Carter McNeil and Cole Floyd from Bethel University won the team title with a combined weight of 48-6 – winning by 1.5 pounds.

Adams and Carman were just outside the cutline for the Top 12 that fished in the final round. The second duo finished with a combined weight of 28 pounds and 15 ounces. The Top 20 and ties advance on to the national championship.

CU also had three other boats in the field. Tanner Barnes and Dakota Cantrell finished in 30^thplace with 27 pounds and 10 ounces. Trevor Sagrecy and Abby Greynolds were 110^thwith 24 pounds and 12 ounces. Colby Hayes and Dustin Bauer placed 176^thwith only five fish on Day 1 at 13 pounds even.

The fourth stop in the Bassmaster College Series is the Northeast Regional Championship on the St. Lawrence River in New York on June 19-21.
