Lady Tiger softball set to host rivalry doubleheader vs. Georgetown on Tuesday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — One of the biggest rivalries in NAIA softball hits the diamond at Hord Field and Veterans Memorial Park on Tuesday afternoon. 
 
No. 14 Lady Tiger softball hosts Georgetown College with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. ET. Fans can tune in to the CU Sports Network starting at 1:45 p.m. for live coverage. 
 
The Lady Tigers enter this week with a 22-5 record and are 8-2 inside Mid-South Conference play. Campbellsville won three of four games over University of Pikeville over the weekend has won 12 of the last 14 games. 
 
Georgetown College boasts a 17-15 record and 4-6 inside the MSC. The Tigers, have had a little rough go lately, losing two to Lindsey Wilson last weekend and also dropping a game to Union College and Kentucky Christian. Also, GC lost three of four games to Shawnee State. 

The road series is also the 19th and 20th road games of the year out of the total 32 for Georgetown. 
 

NAIA Rankings:
  • Campbellsville picked up 302 voting points from the national raters moving to No. 14. The Lady Tigers boast a 22-5 record overall and are 8-2 inside Mid-South Conference play. 
  • The Lady Tigers are one of two programs from the MSC ranked in the Top 25. Lindsey Wilson improved two spots after starting the year with a 27-1 record. The Blue Raiders sit at No. 6 this week. 
  • The top undefeated team in the country, Science & Arts, earned the No. 1 ranking for the third-straight poll. The Drovers are 39-0 on the year and earned all 19 first-place votes with 529 points. 
Humphrey earns MSC and NCCAA Player of the Week:
  • After battling back from ACL surgery last year, Humphrey has broken out of her early-season slump and the bat came alive this past week. 
  • She hit .619 on the week (13-of-21) with five home runs and 15 RBI. Humphrey finished with three doubles as well and scored eight runs. Her slugging percentage was 1.476 and is currently on a 10-game hitting streak. In that streak, she has upped her average from .125 to .338 on the year. Also, she's hitting 19-of-27 (.703) with seven home runs and 21 RBI in that hitting streak.
  • Her 10 home runs on the year rank sixth in the NAIA.
Offense is coming together:
  • In the last eight games, the Lady Tigers are averaging 11.8 runs per game and currently rank No. 1 by averaging 1.7 home runs per contest.
  • Hannah Judd leads the way by hitting .400 on the year, while Riley Hurst and Lexi Miller are also continuing their great starts by hitting .382 and .372, respectively. 
  • In the last month, two-hole hitter Mia Aldridge has upped her average from .308 to .395. She's currently on a 11-game hitting streak. 
  • Payton Blades has fit into the leadoff spot in the order nicely and upped her average from .250 on March 12 to now .347. Blades is riding a nine-game hitting streak.
Scouting Georgetown:
  • The Tigers lost NAIA All-American Chaselyn Allgeier and All-Conference performer Kara Howard to graduation last year. 
  • The offense was one of the best in the MSC and this year GC is last in batting average at .270, slugging percentage (.365), runs/game (4.6) and hits/game (7.1). 
  • GC is led in offense by Kristen Klimesh's .356 average. 
  • The Tigers have also only hit eight home runs on the year compared to 45 for Campbellsville. 
  • GC does return all-conference pitcher Hannah Morton in the circle. She's leading the Tigers with a 1.26 ERA and is 10-5 on the season with 11 complete-games and three shutouts in 100+ innings. 
  • Audrey Dodd is the No. 2 with a 3.35 ERA and 7-8 overall record.
