MOBILE, Ala. – The Campbellsville men's tennis team had a nice bounce back effort on Tuesday at the NCCAA Championship with their first win of round robin play over Cedarville University at the Mobile Tennis Center.
The Tigers took an early lead in doubles play with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles with pretty comfortable 8-1 and 8-3 wins.
As the match moved into singles play with CU holding on to a 2-1 lead, they didn't let Cedarville get back into the match as the Tigers earned the next three team points to clinch the 5-1 win.
Will True,
Adrian Sabrojo, and
Matus Sevcik all won their singles matches to finishing the dual there after the three singles results. Sabrojo and Sevcik along with the doubles tandem of
Cesar Castro and
Cristian Perez earned the first two points of the dual for Campbellsville.
CU will finish off the round robin portion of the championship with their final match against Judson University on Wednesday. Whoever wins between the Tigers and Eagles will face off against Ottawa University Arizona in the championship match on Thursday.
