Bass Fishing has six boats compete in field at 2019 FLW National Championship

MARBURY, Md. — Campbellsville University had six boats in the field at the FLW National Championship presented by Lowrance but the best the anglers could muster was a 56th place finish on the Potomac River.

Nick Ratliff and Bradley Dunagan led the way with a. total of 23 pounds 10 ounces for nine fish but none of the six teams made the cut into the final round on Thursday.

Ratliff and Dunagan hauled in a five-fish limit of 13 pounds and 13 ounces on Day 1 but had only four keepers on Day 2 with nine pounds 13 ounces.

Adam Carman and Grant Adams were close behind by finishing in 60^thplace. The duo caught a limit of 13 pounds 15 ounces, but Day 2 wasn't as nice with only four keepers at nine pounds even.

Travis Hunt and Trevor Sagrecy finished in 69^thplace with a solid day of 13-1 on Day 1 but only reeled in three fish for just over eight pounds on Day 2.

Senior Mason Sapp was also fishing in his final FLW Championship but had to go solo. Sapp only totaled five fish overall through the two days for 12 pounds 1 ounce.

Dakota Cantrell was also fishing solo and totaled 10 pounds 8 ounces, while the duo of Justin Mayfield and Colby Hayes had a total of just one fish at two pounds five ounces.

The Murray State duo of Adam Puckett and Blake Albertson were able to squeak by with the title. After 16 pounds and 13 pounces on Day 1, Puckett and Albertson caught the biggest limit of the event worth 18 pounds, 14 ounces on day two to take the lead. They finished with 15-8 in the third round to total 51 pounds 3 ounces --- winning by the three ounces over Bethel University's Tristan McCormick and Dakota Pierce.

The Tiger anglers will now head north to the St. Lawrence River for the final regional championship of the year with B.A.S.S. The Northeast Regional is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19 – Friday, June 21 in New York.
