Marc Lawrence celebrates his birthday with a pair of goals as the Tigers take down Bluefield, 6-0

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – On Wednesday night, the Tigers used a spurt of four goals in six minutes to take down Bluefield and improve to 3-1 in 2019.

Campbellsville was able to use a 19-1 shots on goal advantage to outduel the Rams 6-0.

While outshooting the Rams 12-1 in the first half, it was the second shot of the night for the Tigers that gave CU an early 1-0 lead. In the 10thminute of the match Azad Iliozer tallied his second goal of the season off of a dish from Kalvin Semedo as the Tigers took the lead and never looked back.

Bluefield's loan opportunity in the half came as defender Axel Johansson used a free kick to fire a missile nearly over the head of Owen Stott. Stott, nonetheless was able to jump up and catch the ball for his second save of the young season.

Throughout the half, the Tigers had numerous quality opportunities, but the Rams' goalie, Keegan Brade made a variety of athletic saves to send his team in the half, trailing only 1-0.

The Tigers jumped out with a quick second half goal as well. Marc Lawrence, celebrating his birthday, was able to steal the ball from a Bluefield defender before pushing the ball past the Brade for his second goal of the season.

The Campbellsville offense exploded in the 63rdminute as it took the Tigers only six minutes to score four goals and expand their lead to 6-0. Haylen West sandwiched the Tiger scoring streak picking up his fourth and fifth goals of the season. Tom Edge and Marc Lawrence also participated in the Tigers' spurt.

The Tigers will return to action next Wednesday, when they travel to Indiana Wesleyan University for a 7 p.m. ET matchup on September 18th.
