CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Coming off of an upset victory over NAIA No. 8 Bethel University, the Campbellsville University men's soccer team will host NCAA Division II opponent in Oakland City University Wednesday night.
The Tigers and Mighty Oaks will face off at Finley Stadium with a kickoff time of 7 p.m. ET as the game will be streamed live on the CU Sports Network with
Zach Clements on the call.
LAST TIME OUT
- As mentioned previously, CU earned a big 1-0 win over the Wildcats of Bethel University last Saturday as they scored their goal in the 68th minute off the foot of Marc Lawrence.
- The Tigers also got their fourth-straight shutout and fifth overall as Owen Stott made a season-high six saves in the match on his way to being named the Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a week's total of 11 save in two wins.
- The game was a physical one as CU had 20 fouls and BU was whistled for 17 but Bethel came away with more yellow cards as they were given five yellow cards with the Tigers taking two bookings.
SCOUTING OAKLAND CITY
- The Might Oaks are 1-7 so far on the season with their lone win coming on Aug. 30 against Kentucky Christian, where OCU won 3-0.
- Most recently, Oakland City fell to Lincoln College last Saturday by a score of 2-0 as that game was a road game for OCU.
- Oakland City doesn't have any multi-goal scorers and have only scored four goals all season but Pedro Cortes del Fresno is their leading scorer with a goal and an assist this season.
LOOKING AHEAD
- After Wednesday's game, the Tigers will get ready for Mid-South Conference play as they will travel to Pikeville, Ky. next Wednesday to face the Bears of University of Pikeville.
- Their next home game will be the following Saturday when they host Shawnee State University at 2 p.m. ET as that day will have a triple-header of games at Finley Stadium with women's soccer at noon and football at 7 p.m. ET.
