Lady Tigers pick up two national cuts as they open the season with fifth place finish

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Throughout this past weekend, Lady Tiger swimming participated in the LWC Fall Frenzy, picking up a fifth-place overall finish. 
 
Individually, the Lady Tiger performances were highlighted by Hannah Rhodenbaugh and Sarah Beth Howard.
 
Rhodenbaugh led the way for Campbellsville as she was able to score 26 team points in three individual events. Her top performance came in the 1650-yard freestyle her swim of 19:58 was enough to place her sixth in the event. Rhodenbaugh was also able to pick up a 10thplace finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:20.76 and 11thin the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.38.
 
Howard was able to contribute 25 points to Campbellsville's totals as she picked up an 11thplace finish in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.95 seconds, sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.01, and 11thin the 200-yard backstroke with a final time of 2:31.40.
 
Other top performances from the Lady Tigers included sixth and seventh place finishes from Faith Hyde (5:40.05) and Lexie Upton (5:46.14) in the 400-yard IM, as well as Hannah Hager's eighth place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:49.09.
 
Campbellsville was also able to put capitalize on some team relay performances with four top ten finishes in relays. The first of their relay performances came through the 200-yard freestyle relay, where Rhodenbaugh, Mikayla Runner, Howard, and Hager, were able to use a 1:52.23 for an eighth-place finish. Rhodenbaugh, Howard, and Hager were later joined by Faith Hyde to finish ninth in the 200-yard medley and tenth in the 400-yard medley.
 
The 200 free and 200 medley were enough for national standards for the Lady Tigers.
 
The Lady Tigers were also able to use a 9:12.22 in the 800-yard freestyle relay to score 22 points with an eighth-place finish.
 
"We were able to emphasize teamwork, encouragement, and intensity, performing extremely well as a family," head coach, Casey Bradstreet said. 
 
Campbellsville was able to score 251 points, which was enough for a fifth-place finish. Olivet Nazarene won the meet as they tallied 1,001.5 team points.
 
The Lady Tigers will open the home portion of their schedule on Friday, Oct. 4, as Centre College visits the Powell Athletic Center at 6:30 p.m.
