Box Score 4 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Campbellsville women's volleyball team finished off the weekend with a 3-1 record at the Music City Invitational after two matches on Saturday.
The three wins came against Brewton-Parker, Freed-Hardeman, and Asbury with the loss coming from their Saturday match against Indiana University East. None of the wins came in a sweep as they took out the Barons and Lions 3-1 with a comeback needed against the Eagles to edge out a 3-2 win in five sets.
CU dropped the first set against BPC then rattled off three straight as the set scores went 23-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-11. Campbellsville's next four-set win over Freed-Hardeman went 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, and 25-20 to earn back-to-back wins on Friday.
Saturday's sweep loss at the hands of the Red Wolves of IU East was a close match the whole way as the Lady Tigers never lost by more than five points at 25-20, 25-21, and 25-22.
The weekend ending win over Asbury was a back and forth match as CU took the first set, only to see Asbury take the next two. CU was able to come through in the clutch over the fourth and fifth set to end up winning 25-22, 23-25, 24-26, 25-18, and 15-13.
The Lady Tigers will return to Campbellsville Saturday night for a day off from matches on Sunday before getting right back on the road for a Mid-South Conference match on Monday at Shawnee State.
