League of Legends victory highlights Esports’ first weekend of action in 2020

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Esports team got back into competition last weekend as both the League of Legends and Rocket League units were in action.

League of Legends earned a 2-0 victory against Western Kentucky University for their third win of the season. The Tigers were led by Chanaphat Boonprasit in the Karmotrine ADC position as he finished the two games with KDA (Kill/Death/Assist) ratios of 15/0/10 and 11/1/5.

Working as the Betastar Support, James Mattingly set up Boonprasit in the early game to get him to gain momentum for the Campbellsville squad. CU is currently the fourth ranked fourth out of 12 in the North East Conference.

The Rocket League team also competed in NRSL qualifiers with the team going 3-4 in seven qualifying games with all four losses coming by a single goal. The Tigers earned two wins by disqualification and another win by a score of 3-1.

Campbellsville needs to place in the top 16 of qualifiers to move out of the qualification stages as they currently place 21st of 25 teams.

League of Legends will face one of their toughest opponents of the season when they face Case Western Reserve University next Saturday and the Rocket League team will have another round of NRSL qualifiers this upcoming weekend as well.
