CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – In the opening match in the Gosser Gymnasium, the No. 2 Tigers (9-0) extended their best start in program history after a sweep over the Reinhardt Eagles (1-4).

After winning in three sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-15, Campbellsville has now swept their opponents in six of their first nine matches to start the season.

On an extremely efficient night, the Tigers swung at a .452 clip with 45 kills on 73 attacks with just 12 errors.

Yannik Ahr led the way for CU with 12 kills on just 16 attacks, hitting .625. Ramon Matos and Rafael Cruz were not far behind as each tallied seven kills with only one error. Max Stotridge also used an efficient night, hitting .857 to match his season high six kills on seven attacks.

While the Tigers showed incredible efficiency, the Eagles struggled with their opportunities, with just 15 kills on 47 attacks. CU held Reinhardt to six, five, and four kills respectively in each set.

Matos also led the front line of the Tiger defense with a career high three solo blocks. With a total block count of seven on the night, Matos was also a part of 7 of the 10 total team blocks for CU.

In limited opportunities for the backline for CU, reigning NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week John Montalvo and libero Joudiel Poveymirow were able to pick up four digs on the night.

The Tigers will return to the Gosser Gymnasium for a pair of games this weekend, as they will host Goshen College at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 31, and Life University on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
