CINCINNATI, Ohio – Over the weekend, Tiger bowling took to the Queen City to compete in the MSC Cincinnati Collegiate Classic where
Austin Montgomery powered them to a ninth-place finish.
Montgomery gathered a score of 1,905 in nine games bowled behind a 258 and 234 in hist first two games of the day. His mark was good enough for an 11
thplace finish of the 239 total competitors in the classic.
Andrew McWhorter closely followed Montgomery putting together an average of 207.11, to total 1,864 for the Tigers. McWhorter bowled the best single game score for CU on the day to pick up 275 points. McWhorter's score was enough to put him in the meets top 20 as he finished 19
th.
Adam Zimmerman,
Luke Morris, and
Nolan Renfro ultimately rounded out the day for the Tigers, as the trio bowled scores of 1,723, 1,614, and 1,569, respectively. Of the three Morris topped the highest single game score with a 245 in his third game of the day. The three went on to finish 53
rd, 75
th, and 90
th.
While not bowling towards the team score, Wade Hines and
Emanuel Casillas also had impressive showings for CU, finishing 32
ndand 39
thindividually. Hines led Casillas averaging just over 200, with a final score of 1802. Casillas followed with a final mark of 1777.
Drew Ramey was also able to jump in with CU's top scorers as he used 1,673 points to finish 61
stin the competition.
Through their totals, the Tigers were able to mark 8,675 points, good enough for ninth place on the day.
Lindenwood University took the crown, notching 9,560 points through the 45 team games. Individually, Nathan Samuels won the classic, with an individual total of 2,046.
The Tigers will now have a weekend off before competing in another Mid-South Conference Event in Indianapolis, Ind. on Feb. 8
th and 9
th.
