KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Currently at a 21-1 overall record and 7-1 in the Mid-South Conference, the Campbellsville University women's basketball team jumps back to No. 2 in the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 poll, the NAIA announced Wednesday morning.
The Lady Tigers opened the season at the No. 2 spot then spent 28 days as the No. 1 team in the poll from Dec. 4 to Jan. 15 before suffering their first loss of the season to No. 7 Shawnee State University and moving to No. 3 on Jan. 15's poll.
Since that date, CU has gone 3-0 with home wins against University of the Cumberlands and Georgetown then most recently a win on the road against Thomas More University.
The only team in front of the Lady Tigers are the Stars of Oklahoma City University, who remain undefeated at 18-0 as the only undefeated team at the NAIA Division I level. OCU earned all nine first place votes for a point total at 219, just eight ahead of CU's 211.
Other Mid-South Conference teams mentioned in the poll include two teams in the top-25 with Shawnee State holding at No. 7 for the fourth-straight poll and Lindsey Wilson College moving from No. 12 to No. 14. Thomas More, Cumberlands, and University of Pikeville are all in the receiving votes category to make it six of a potential nine teams from the MSC mentioned in the NAIA poll.

Campbellsville ranks in the top-10 12 different statistical categories including ranking No. 1 in total assists (418), steals per game (15.8), turnover margin (+11.4), and total steals (348).
Lady Tiger leading scorer Madison Faulkner ranks 27 among all NAIA DI women's basketball players in points per game at 16.4 after coming off of a 22-point game against Thomas More last week.
Savannah Gregory is coming off of arguably her best week of the 2019-20 season after scoring a career-high 26 points last Thursday against Georgetown, where she achieved her 1,000th career point at CU, as she followed that up with 15 points and eight rebounds in the win against TMU.
Campbellsville women's basketball will begin their second swing of Mid-South Conference play this Thursday when they host Life University at the Powell Athletic Center followed by a road game against Cumberland University on Sunday.
