CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The second week of competition was a more successful one for the Campbellsville University Esports team as they picked up another win in Super Smash Bros. as well as a pair of wins in Overwatch as well.
The Overwatch victories came on Thursday and Saturday as the Tigers earned a 3-0 win over Keiser University Sarasota in NACE competition then followed up with a 2-0 win in a TESPA competition against The College of Saint Rose this past Saturday.
In the win over Keiser,
Alexandra Rhoton shined in her NACE debut as she was able to secure four "double-kill" eliminations while also protecting the payload. Along with Rhoton,
Damon Schiola,
Kaden Price,
Reece Brinley,
Aaron Burns,
Zachary Budd, and
Michael Kendrick played vital roles as Schiola, Price, Brinley, Burns, and Budd were able to hold down point after a push from Keiser while Kendrick was able to get flank and pick up four eliminations to secure a win on a map.
The win for the Super Smash Bros. team came against Shenandoah University by a score of 2-0 as other Smash competitors dropped a match to Valparaiso University by a score of 2-0. Other results from the week include a 3-2 overtime loss in Overwatch to Florida Southern College and a 3-1 loss to Lakeland University in Rocket League.
CU will compete in more NACE Fall Cup matchups this week with Overwatch on Monday and Thursday, Rocket League on Tuesday, and Smash on Friday. The Tigers will also start their CSL League of Legends season this Saturday with their season-opening match Saturday afternoon.
