CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The first and only home game in the month of November for the Campbellsville University women's basketball team was a dominant 111-56 over Union College Tuesday night.
Four of the five Lady Tiger starters scored in double figures in the game led by the 21 points from
Savannah Gregory as Gregory filled up the stat sheet grabbing a team-high seven rebounds and adding four steals, three assists, and a block. Gregory's four steals got her to second place on the all-time steals list as she passed Andrea Deaton, who is now Andrea Smith.
Sammy Rogers scored 16 points with 14 of her 16 coming in the first half,
Lexy Lake added 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting from three-point range, and
Courtney Pritchett added 10 points, six assists, and four rebounds.
The bench scoring was led by freshman
Elizabeth Bertram as she knocked down three three-pointers in only six minutes of action in the fourth quarter.
Madison Sheppard scored seven in 17 minutes,
Lauren Lee,
Ashlee McGeorge, and
Faith Lake all scored six,
Sarah Sutton added five, and
Lashaya Carman and
Ashanti Gore both scored four points.
Once again, a large deficit in the second quarter carried the Lady Tigers to a 24-point halftime lead as they outscored the Bulldogs 31-12 in the second 10 minutes of play.
Foul trouble hampered Union during the first half as they accumulated 13 fouls that led to 14 CU free throw attempts. That foul trouble also knocked the Bulldogs' leading scorer Brooke Hammonds out of most of the half as she only played two minutes. Hammonds went on to play 18 of the 20 minutes in the second half to finish with 16 points.
Up next for the Lady Tigers will be the start of Mid-South Conference play when they hit the road for Williamsburg, Ky. on Nov. 19 for a meeting with University of the Cumberlands.
