Tigers are shutout for first time this season, falling 1-0 to Grace College in NCCAA Semifinal

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A single goal in the 67th minute was the difference maker late on Friday night as the Tigers fell to Grace College for the second-straight year in the NCCAA Semifinal at Austin-Tindall Soccer Complex.

Campbellsville (1-0) and Grace (8-4-2) both rolled through Pool Play and the possessive-heavy game was slowed to a snail's pace throughout.

Campbellsville had multiple opportunities to capitalize on counter attacks but couldn't find the back of the net. Shot totals were in favor of the Tigers, 8-3, in the first half with half of those on frame.

Jeremi Campagnolo had four saves overall and kept the Tigers within striking distance after making multiple diving stops.

In the second half, Grace College's Ze Maria Goncalves found Ulisses Miranda in the box for the lone assist and goal on the night.

Kalvin Semedo had the most chances for the Tigers with three shots – two on frame. Semedo and the Tigers were able to use their speed down the wings and play balls over the top to the center but couldn't cash in.

The loss ends the Tigers fall season with a 5-1 mark. Campbellsville will open its spring schedule due to COVID-19 at home against rival Lindsey Wilson College on Sunday, Feb. 14.

Grace is meeting top-seeded Bethel University on Saturday night in the NCCAA Championship.
