Lady Tigers cruise to 88-63 win over Bryan College

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The second of three-straight home games went the way of the Campbellsville University women's basketball team as they earned an 88-63 victory over Bryan College Saturday afternoon at the Powell Athletic Center.
 
The Lady Tigers were able to outscore Bryan in each of the first three quarters to build a 71-44 lead heading into the fourth quarter, allowing the Lions to outscore CU but still give Campbellsville a comfortable victory.
 
For the third time in four games, Sammy Rogers led Campbellsville in scoring as she finished with her second-straight 20-point game, ending the game with 23 points. She also pulled down a game-high tying seven rebounds while adding three assists, two steals, and two blocked shots to round out her game.
 
Rogers was backed up by Savannah Gregory and Courtney Pritchett as both were also in double figures with 18 and 11 respectively. Gregory was able to get her 18 on only nine shot attempts as she was able to grab four rebounds with two steals and two assists.
 
An 18-4 run to finish the final 5:30 of the first quarter pushed the Lady Tigers out front after the score was tied 8-8 early. CU was able to end the quarter with a 26-12 run while also holding the Lions scoreless for the first four minutes of the second quarter.
 
Both teams struggled to score in the second quarter as only 20 points total were scored. BC's Kaitlynn Hennessee protected the rim well in the first half as she rejected seven shots in the first 20 minutes to finish with nine total in the game.
 
CU point guard Bailey Pedigo finished the game with a strong overall stat line as she added four points, five assists, three steals, and tied Rogers for a game-high in rebounds with seven. Bench scoring was led by Madison Sheppard as she finished with eight points with two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
 
Up next for the Lady Tigers will be a Monday afternoon meeting at home against Bethel for a 3 p.m. ET tip at the Powell Athletic Center.
