CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Esports team picks up four wins while competing in rocket league and league of legends.
Competing in their 12th week of Collegiate Starleague competition, the CU League of Legends team picked up a pair of victories.
In game number one against Southern Virginia University, Campbellsville took both matches. The team started off the game with an aggressive invade into the enemy jungle. During the invade, James Mattingly, playing Morgana, was able to land a root on an enemy to secure first blood for Campbellsville. Ashton Paiz played his signature champion Ahri, and ending game one with a prefect K/D/A of 7/0/14. This kept the momentum rolling into game two.
After a 2-0 victory in game one, the Tigers squared off with Southern Virginia University. Keandre, who played Darius, out farmed his enemy laner, while having a perfect game with a K/D/A of 5/0/3. Senior Chanaphat Boonprasit played his last regular season game this weekend. Picking the champion Lucian, Chana was able to hard carry the final game against Southern Virginia University, getting three triple kills and a double kill, leading to his best performance of his season, ending the game with a perfect game going 16/0/7. Campbellsville ended the week going 2-0.
The Campbellsville University Esports League of Legends team will find out later this week if they have qualified for the tournament playoffs.
Next, it was the Rocket League team who saw action for the Tigers. Last week, the team went an unblemished 2-0 in the NRLS Challenger League.
Game one and game two mirrored each other, as the Tigers picked up two 3-0 victories to end the week. The Rocket League Team sits at the top of the field headed into week two of the NRLS Challenger League.
