Lady Tiger basketball closes the home portion of their schedule with senior night against Thomas More

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - As the Campbellsville closes out the home portion of their schedule with Thomas More on Thursday, they look to recognize seniors Madison Faulkner and Caitlin Hall.

In their four-year careers with CU, Faulkner and Hall have become staples in the Lady Tiger lineup, as Faulkner has become a heavy scoring presence, currently ranking 20th all-time and Hall has flashed some of the best no look passes in LTB lore. CU will need to rely on this senior duo as they will fight to maintain their top spot in the MSC standings.

HOW TO WATCH
SERIES FACTS
  • In just their fourth meeting in program history, the Saints will visit the Powell Athletic Center for the first time ever Thursday evening.
  • NAIA and MSC newcomer, Thomas More has yet to defeat the Lady Tigers in their previous three meetings.
  • However, Thursday's matchup marks just the second time the CU will faceoff with the Saints since 1988.

LAST MEETING - Jan. 25
  • As the Lady Tigers visited Crestview Hills earlier this season, the Saints took CU down to the wire, but Campbellsville was able to prevail, 71-67.
  • After trailing at the half for just the fifth time this season, the Lady Tigers used a six point second half advantage to seal the victory.
  • The second half scoring was sparked by Courtney Pritchett and Savannah Gregory as they pair combined for 18 points over the final 20 minutes of play.
  • The duo did a little of everything in the ballgame as Pritchett closed with 17 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals, while Gregory added 15 points, eight rebounds, and two steals herself.
  • On the day, however, it was Madison Faulkner who was able to lead all scorers with 22 points.
  • The Saints on the other hand had their scoring evened out as four players recorded 12 or 13 points for the team.
  • Nonetheless, as CU was able to force 25 turnovers on the afternoon for 27 points, the Lady Tigers came out victorious in their first meeting with ex-NCAA Division III powerhouse.

SCOUTING THOMAS MORE
  • Thomas More enters the weekend with an 18-7 record, going 7-5 inside the Mid-South Conference to give them a 22nd NAIA ranking.
  • The Saints have been led by a quartet of scorers, all averaging over 11.6 ppg, with their leading scorer coming in Emily Shultz at 14.4 points per contest.
  • Schultz has been able to develop an efficient game, using a 58.9% mark from the field to rank her fifth in the NAIA.
  • Along with her scoring output, Schultz also leads the team with 7.44 rebounds per game to rank her third in the Mid-South Conference.
  • Thomas More has also developed a duo of deep threats in Kaela Saner and Courtney Hurst as Saner ranks third in the country in 3-pt. fg% (0.438) and Hurst sits in the top 10 in 3-pts. made per game (3.040).
  • This duo has allowed TMU to put together the NAIA's 11th ranked scoring offense with 78.24 ppg., while also ranking fourth in 3-pt.% (0.379) and ninth in fg% (0.453).

TIGER CLAWZ
  • CU head coach Ginger High Colvin achieved the 20-win total for the 12th-straight time in her 13 seasons leading the charge for the Lady Tigers. The only season she did not lead Campbellsville to a 20-win season was in her first season as head coach when the Lady Tigers won 19 games.
  • Campbellsville is the No. 1 assisting team in NAIA Division I with a team total of 524 behind Caitlin Hall's 144 assists, good for No. 5 individually in that category.
  • Forcing turnovers has been a big part of the CU game plan this season as they force their opponents into 27.5 turnovers per game and rank first in NAIA DI in total steals at 434, steals per game at 16.07, and turnover margin at +11.4 this season.
  • The three-point shot has been a big benefit for the Lady Tiger offense as they rank No. 1 in the NAIA in team three-point percentage at 38.9 percent behind one of the best three-point shooters in NAIA DI as Lexy Lake ranks No. 3 in total threes made (83) as well as No. 7 in threes made per game (3.1), and No. 1 in three-point percentage (45.1%).

INDIVIDUAL MILESTONES WATCH
  • Upper classmen in the CU starting lineup have been and will be climbing the all-time leader boards in the history of Lady Tiger basketball.
  • Starting with Madison Faulkner joining the 1,000-point club, she now sits at 20th on the all-time scoring list with 1,389 career points.
  • Savannah Gregory has joined Faulkner in the 1,000-point club and now has 1,130 career points. She is also in the top-five on the career steals list as she is currently at 306, recently passing Mackenzie Lee and Rosanne Conlan for now at third all-time.
  • Gregory and Lee hold a little more of a connection than just being in the top-five on the career steals list as Gregory become the first Lady Tiger since Lee to reach the 1,000-point milestone during their junior campaigns. Lee eventually finished with 1,462 career-points, which is 16th all-time.
  • Senior Caitlin Hall currently has 565 career assists, just passing Katie Allen for fifth all-time on the career assists list.

1,000-WIN PLATEAU
  • In the 45th season of Lady Tiger basketball, Campbellsville reached a milestone that had only been accomplished twice in the history of NAIA women's basketball by winning 1,000 games.
  • The monumental win came in the Lady Tigers 91-59 win over Martin Methodist in Pulaski, Tenn. on Nov. 9 as part of the MSC/SSAC Crossover.
  • Campbellsville joins Wayland Baptist and Union University (Tenn.) as the only other programs to reach the feat as Union is no longer part of the NAIA after moving to the NCAA Division II level.

UP NEXT FOR CU
  • Campbellsville will close out the season on the road as they look to visit Georgetown on Feb. 22nd and the University of the Cumberlands on the 29th.
