MSC CHAMP! Andrew McWhorter claims Mid-South Conference Singles Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — For the second straight season, Campbellsville University bowling is bringing home the Mid-South Conference Singles Championship. Andrew McWhorter bowled four games in the 200s and outpaced the nearest bowler by 17 pins to win the Mid-South Conference championship.

McWhorter joins Katlyn Hoeh as back-to-back singles champs for the men's and women's program.

He set the tone right out of the gate with his first game at 223. McWhorter backed that up with the fourth-highest single game total of the singles championship (238) and took a commanding lead.

In games three-five, McWhorter bowled 219-216-197 to claim the title over Marian University's Cody Partain and Cumberland University's Jarred Bradshaw by 17 pins.

The Tigers had three bowlers in the Top 13. Joining McWhorter was Emanuel Casillas in eighth place and a Second-Team All-Conference bowler, Austin Montgomery. Casillas bowled all five games in the 200s and totaled 1,060 pints, while Montgomery finished with 1,028 pins and three games in the 200s.

Adam Zimmerman (985), Joshua Hines (985), Andrew Ramey (969), Nolan Renfro (822) and Luke Morris (734) round out the Tigers in the singles championship.

In doubles, Campbellsville had three teams in the Top 7. McWhorter and Zimmerman finished with 2,078 pins – just 22 pins away from the title.

Ramey and Casillas teamed up to finish sixth with 2029 combined pins. In seventh place, Montgomery and Hines knocked down 2013 pins.

The Mid-South Conference Team Championship begins on Friday at Southern Lanes and goes into Saturday and Sunday.
