Tiger volleyball sweeps sixth straight match; hits over .400 in fifth straight match on the road at Bluefield

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Another match, another sweep for top-ranked Campbellsville University men's volleyball as the Tigers dominated Bluefield College on Friday night, 25-16, 25-9, 25-14. 
 
Campbellsville (18-2) had solid nights from Rafael Cruz, Max Stotridge and Jose Viera. Cruz led the way with 10 kills, while Stotridge finished with eight and Viera had seven. The Tigers hit an astonishing .403 from the floor once again – which is the sixth straight match CU has hit over .303 and fifth straight over .400. 
 
Overall, the Tigers dominated tonight with 40 kills compared to 15 for Bluefield as the Rams hit just -0.016 from the floor and tallied more attack errors (16). Campbellsville finished with 40 kills and only nine errors on 77 attacks tonight.
 
The serving was on point as well with the Tigers recording a season-high 13 service aces. 
 
Leading to the Tiger offense was Jeremy Hernandez and Ryan Smith. The duo combined for 29 assists as Hernandez had 15 and Smith had 14. 
 
Defensively, Joudiel Poveymirow and Cruz had nine and eight digs, respectively. 
 
With the win, the Tigers extend their win streak back to six games and will now have a full week to prepare for Lincoln College. CU and Lincoln square off at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 29 in Gosser Gym.
