Faulkner's new career-high leads the way in big win over Georgetown College

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Lady Tiger basketball scored 31 points in the third quarter and ran away with a big win over rival Georgetown College, 89-47.

The 42-point win is the sixth 40-point-or-more victory for Campbellsville this season and the 31 points for Madison Faulkner is a new career-high. But Faulkner couldn't be outdone as roommate Savannah Gregory pitched in her fourth double-double of the year with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Gregory was three steals away from a triple double as she led the way with seven of the 20 takeaways.

Campbellsville forced 32 turnovers for Georgetown and turned those into 40 points off turnovers. The Lady Tigers' 14 offensive rebounds also exchanged for 14 second chance points.

The difference in the game was the second and third quarters. The Lady Tigers held Georgetown to its second-lowest point total in a quarter - seven points in the second to take a 39-22 lead at halftime. That lead ballooned to 70-32 at the end of the third quarter as Georgetown only scored 10 points in that frame – which is the fourth lowest all season.

In the two regular season games this season, the Lady Tigers have held Georgetown to 5, 7, 9, and 10 point totals in four different quarters – all the season-lows for GC.

Campbellsville (27-2, 13-2) will now have one final game on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the University of the Cumberlands to finish the regular season. The Lady Tigers hold a ½ game lead over Shawnee State University in the standings and have atleast won a share of the conference title.
