Abby Nette becomes second Lady Tiger to be named MSC Wrestler of the Year

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A perfect 14-0 record in 2019-2020 earned Campbellsville's Abby Nette as the Mid-South Conference Women's Wrestler of the Year, which was announced as last night's awards banquet since the National Corvette Museum.

Nette, a senior transfer from Emmanuel College and St. Rose, Louisiana product, was dominant all season throughout the regular season and capped it with a perfect slate at the conference tournament to claim the 130-pound title.

"Abby has wrestled with a relentless tenacity all year. She is driven to be the best," said coach Lee Miracle.

In addition to competing for the Lady Tigers, Nette has traveled the world representing Campbellsville this year. She competed in the U23 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary and also won the USA Senior National Championship in Fort Worth, Texas.

She claimed the WCWA National Championship at 130 pounds – which was her second national title – and helped lead Campbellsville to its second MSC Regular Season and Tournament championships.

Nette will now compete at the NAIA Championship and also Olympic Trials at Penn State in early April along with former Lady Tiger Kayla Miracle. Also, current teammates Mariah Harris and Alexandra Castillo also qualified after winning their first national championships at the WCWA level in February.
