BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Redshirt junior Savannah Gregory was named the Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the second time in her career, as was released at the conference awards banquet on Thursday night.
 
To earn the honor, Gregory led the tenacious Lady Tigers in steals, blocks, and rebounds. 
 
As Campbellsville leads the NAIA in steals per game, averaging 16.33, and rank second in turnover margin (11.73), Gregory continued her presence as a pick pocket as her three steals per game and 90 steals on the season rank 11^th among NAIA competitors.
 
After receiving the MSC Defensive Player of the Year award a year ago, Gregory was able to continue her stellar defensive numbers as she surpassed the 300-career steal mark, with a current total of 318 on the season.
 
With over a year a remaining in her career, Gregory currently ranks third on the all-time Lady Tiger steals list and is 46 steals away from surpassing Bonita Scott for the program's top mark.
 
On top of her defensive prowess, Gregory has averaged 13.70 points on the season with a season high 26 points versus Georgetown to rank second on the Lady Tigers.
 
Along with passing the career steal mark of 300 this season, Gregory was also able to make her way into the 1,000-point club against Georgetown after a steal led to a breakaway put back layup.
 
Gregory was praised all-around at the MSC Awards banquet, also receiving awards for her Nov. 4^th MSC Player of the Week, Champions of Character Team, and MSC First Team All-Conference, joining Madison Faulkner and Caitlin Hall.
 
Campbellsville will now look to start their Mid-South Tournament run on Friday as they will face Life University at Bowling Green High School at 2 p.m. ET.
