Lady Tigers dominate Life University to move into Mid-South Conference semifinal on Sunday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — No. 2 Campbellsville used a 10-0 run to begin the game and 24-15 first quarter to never looked back defeating Life University, 95-54, in the Mid-South Conference Tournament. 
 
The Lady Tigers (29-2) were in control wire-to-wire as they shot the lights out of Studle Financial Services Arena hitting 31-of-59 (53%) overall from the floor and 12-of-20 (60%) from beyond the arc. 
 
The difference in the game were the benches. The Lady Tiger bench outscored the Running Eagle, 44-8. The Lady Tigers were able to rest the legs of the starters in the second half which lead to the bench scoring. 
 
The first half was all Lady Tigers as they forced Life into 18 turnovers and scored 21 points off of those turnovers. Campbellsville hit 19-of-36 (53%) shots from the floor and 5-of-9 (55%) from beyond the arc to build their lead, 50-29, at the break.
 
The second half was much of the same as the Lady Tigers opened the final 20 minutes on a 22-5 run and extended the lead to over 30 points putting the game out of reach. The Lady Tigers outscored the Running Eagles by 20 points in the third quarter to lead by 41. 
 
Savannah Gregory led the way for the Lady Tigers as she poured in 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting and 3-of-4 beyond the arc. Gregory also grabbed eight rebounds to be named the H&W Sport Shop Player of the Game by the conference. Madison Faulkner pitched in 17 points while Sammy Rogers and Faith Lake were the other Lady Tigers to reach double-figures as they both scored 10 points apiece. 
 
The Lady Tigers finished with 34 points off of 29 Life turnovers. Shyla Calbert returned to action for the Lady Tigers after missing time with a shoulder injury to lead Campbellsville with four steals.
 
Campbellsville will return to action to face the winner of Thomas More and Pikeville on Sunday March, 8th at 2 p.m. ET.
