BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Less than a month away from the start of the 2021 season, three members of the Campbellsville University baseball team were named to the Mid-South Conference Preseason Watch List.
 
This is the first season of the MSC's Preseason Watch List as coaches were given the opportunity to submit up to three student-athletes from their team to be mentioned on the list as players to watch for the upcoming season.
 
A total of 33 student-athletes were mentioned on the list as Tigers Dutton Elske, Brady Tedesco, and Korren Thompson were all part of the list.
 
Tedesco is the only returner to represent CU on the list as the left-handed pitcher started five games to a 1-0 record and a 4.71 ERA. He struck out 26 batters and allowed a .203 batting average against in 21 innings.
 
Elske, a graduate eligible catcher, and Thompson, a senior right-handed pitcher are both new to the Tiger program this season as former NCAA Division I players as Elske was a three-year starter at catcher for University of Portland and Thompson comes in after a year off following pitching for University of Cincinnati.
 
Elske did not participate in the 2020 season for Portland but in 2019 he started 33 games and appeared in 36 total finishing the season with four home runs, seven doubles, a triple, 19 RBIs, 25 hits and 12 runs.
 
Thompson pitched for the Bearcats in 2019 as he appeared in 28 games working as the team's closer. He finished the season with 13 saves and 36 strikeouts in 34 innings for a 3.71 ERA and .242 batting average against.
 
The Tigers will open the season on Feb. 11-13 at the NAIA Southeast Rumble when they will face Tennessee Wesleyan, Taylor, Faulkner, and Georgia Gwinnett. CU will open their home schedule on Feb. 16 when they host Indiana University Southeast at HIG Field.
