GREENVILLE, S.C. – The leading scorer for the Campbellsville University women's basketball team, senior
Sammy Rogers was selected as the NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week for women's basketball Monday afternoon.
This is the second overall weekly honor for Rogers, who is averaging a team-best 19.3 points per game while also grabbing 3.9 rebounds per contest. Her other weekly recognition came on Dec. 14 when she earned the Mid-South Conference's Player of the Week.
The Lady Tigers played one game last Thursday against Cumberland University where she scored a game-high 20 points. Rogers scored 18 of her 20 points in the first half as she only missed two shots overall in the whole game, finishing 6-for-8 from the field, 2-of-4 from beyond the three-point line, and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
The women's basketball team is currently away from action due to COVID-19 protocols as an update to the team's status and their upcoming games will be announced in the coming days.
