MARIETTA, GA. – In their second match in a row the Tigers faced double overtime but came out on the high end this afternoon with a 2-1 win over Life University.
Pedro Ramos was the hero that pushed Campbellsville to a now 8-0-1 record on the season.
Marc Boye had a ball in to
Tom Edge who then crossed the ball in to Ramos who headed it in for the goal.
Earlier in the match,
Samuel Londono had a similar result in his goal. Londono was able to score the first goal for the Tigers with only six second left in the first half in the 45
th minute with an assist coming from
Sebastiano Musu.
Life bounced back after Londono's goal in the 57
th minute when the ball from Danny DeLorijin got past
Jeremi Campagnolo.
Campagnolo had a big part to play in the Tigers victory. He record nine saves overall on the day.
Campbellsville outshot Life 28-25, while the Tigers also had seven corners in the match.
"It was a great team effort," said Coach Preston. "The game against Cumberlands helped us grow and we really were able to step up today in a tough battle."
The Tigers will now travel to Georgetown College Wednesday October 6
th for a battle of the Tigers as well as a battle of the undefeated teams. Georgetown currently sits at 9-0 on the season.
