Lightning strikes twice in a 1-1 draw with Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Men's Soccer team remains unbeaten after a 1-1 draw with Georgetown College. Campbellsville moves to 8-0-2 on the season, sitting with a 3-0-2 resume inside of Mid-South Conference play.

Georgetown would strike early in the 5th minute after a defensive mishap in Campbellsville's box. Through the first 25 minutes, both teams set even in the stat category before a 30-minute lightning delay was issued. Play would resume and both teams came out firing, but the lead would remain in the favor of Georgetown at halftime.

The script would flip as Campbellsville brought pressure right out of the gate. Several shots were fired and saved by the GC keeper. In the 57th minute of play, Tom Edge guided a free kick into the box, finding the head of Pedro Ramos for the equalizer. This is the second straight match Ramos has ripped the net. CU's pressure increased and they found two more scoring opportunities before the 66th minute.

Lightning would unfortunately strike again and both teams agreed to end the match in a 1-1 draw. The Tigers return home this Saturday on Homecoming weekend for a matchup with the Thomas More Saints. Kickoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET.
