CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Women's Volleyball team dropped a Mid-South Conference matchup on Thursday night 3-0 to the Thomas More Saints.
In the first frame, Thomas More held a 19-18 set lead and this is where it got interesting. TMU would score and then Campbellsville would answer the call. These two clubs would go point for point until the Saints closed the door 25-23.
Campbellsville showed some life and came out on fire jumping to a 12-6 advantage. Thomas More didn't back down from the fight, forcing a tie at 19. With all the momentum from senior night and a set one victory, TMU would finalize the set 25-22.
Once again, TMU started out red hot on a 13-2 run. The Lady Tigers would try to claw back into third. The Saints ended set three with a 25-16 tally. Thomas More would hit .361 in set three, finishing at .298 for the match.
Sonia Flendrich led CU with nine kills and
Hannah McGill pitched in eight.
Paige Merrick would assist on 25 kills and dig up 11 attacks.
Salma Gonzalez-Sosa found the court four times via the Service Ace.
The Lady Tigers return home to Gosser Gymnasium this Saturday for Senior Night. The ball will be in the air at 2 p.m. ET.
