CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University men's soccer stumbled against Tennessee Southern in Saturday night's match at Finley Stadium losing 1-0.
The Firehawks took an early lead as they scored in the 13
th minute leaving Campbellsville to trail the remainder of the match. The Tigers worked their way up the field to attempt three shots but found difficulty in getting the ball past the Firehawks' goalie.
The Tigers' goalkeeper,
Jeremi Campagnolo, had an energetic second half as he locked down the goal posts. He had a total of five saves out of the ten goal attempts by the Firehawks. Tennessee Southern struggled to find their accuracy in the rest of their shots towards the Tigers' goal.
The Tigers remained durable in their defense but couldn't regain offensive ground against the Firehawks. Campbellsville took six shots in the second half doubling their three from the first. The Tigers shared Tennessee Southern's struggle in recording quality shots-on-goal. Campbellsville was given their one and only corner kick in the 79
thminute, but ultimately, they were unable to capitalize and even the score.
Campbellsville will return tomorrow evening for a match up against Campbellsville-Harrodsburg. The game will be hosted at Finley Stadium Sunday, October 24
th at 6 p.m. ET.
