Lady Tigers record 11th win of season over the Pioneers

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The #1 Lady Tigers took on the Pioneers of Campbellsville-Harrodsburg Monday night adding another win to their undefeated season: 109-66.

Lexy Lake nailed a three (her 23rd of the season) to begin the game from an assist from Bailey Pedigo. Campbellsville would start the contest 8 of 10 from the field with seven assists. Still, the Pioneers kept it close with their 44% shooting and lack of turnovers. The quarter ended 28-19 for the Lady Tigers.

The lead began to climb early in the second quarter with several Ashlee McGeorge buckets in the paint. Three quick turnovers by Harrodsburg ballooned the lead to 15. Perimeter penetration led to frequent kick-outs and dump-offs for the Lady Tigers in the half-court offense. Campbellsville's full-court pressure defense forced nine first-half Harrodsburg turnovers.

In the third quarter, the Pioneers put up ten points in a hurry. The Lady Tiger answered with two threes: one from Lexy Lake and another from Courtney Pritchett. Campbellsville then turned on their fast break attack in response to the Pioneers' defensive aggression and the deficit between the teams increased to 36 before the period ended 79-49.

McGeorge started to heat up in the fourth quarter getting buckets by the basket while teammate Lexy Lake poured in points from distance. The Lady Tigers would close out the contest to the tune of a 109-66 score. Lexy Lake posted her season-high in points to lead the Lady Tigers with 17. Her sister Faith and McGeorge followed with 15 each. The ball found the open player frequently for Campbellsville with 35 team assists compared to only 12 for Harrodsburg. Pritchett posted her season-high with 11 of those assists. The Lady Tiger defense forced 18 turnovers (scoring 31 points) and did not allow a single 20-point quarter from the Pioneers all night.

The Campbellsville University women's basketball team will be back in action Wednesday night to take on the Asbury University Eagles. That game will tip-off at 6 p.m. ET on Donna Wise Court in Powell Athletic Center.
