Lady Tigers dominant second half leads to 73-50 win over Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. – In one of their more consistent 40-minute games of the season, the Campbellsville University women's basketball team earned a 23-point victory over Martin Methodist College by a final of 73-50 on Thursday night.

The Lady Tigers used strong first and third quarters in particular to pull away from MMC in different ways as they outscored the Redhawks 18-5 in the first and 23-13 in the third.

In the fourth quarter, despite the 16-14 margin in favor of CU, Campbellsville was able to lead by as much as 28 but went scoreless in the final 3:40 of the game to allow Martin Methodist to pull that quarter closer than it started.

It was the second-straight game for Savannah Gregory to lead the Lady Tigers in scoring as she dropped 18 points after scoring 25 on Monday at Georgetown. Gregory shot 6-of-9 from the field while knocking down a pair of three-pointers and tying for the team lead in rebounds with five.

Sammy Rogers scored 14 points while shooting 50 percent from the floor (6-12) and adding four rebounds. Matching Gregory's five rebounds was Courtney Pritchett as she scored seven points, all in the first half, and added two assists, a block, and a steal.

The remainder of the scorers for CU were Faith Lake with eight off the bench, Sarah Sutton added seven, Ashlee McGeorge and Lexy Lake both scored six, Madison Sheppard finished with three, with Lauren Lee and Bailey Pedigo each adding a bucket for two points apiece.

For the Redhawks, they were led offensively by Faith Sherrow as she scored 13 points in the game as their only double figures scorer. Every other player for MMC added a basket from the field but none had more than seven points in support of Sherrow.

Martin Methodist was hindered by the turnover as they gave the ball away 21 times, leading to 20 CU points as they also struggled from three-point range, only going 3-of-13 in the game.

Campbellsville will head straight to Marietta, Ga. after tonight's game for a road matchup with Life University at 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
